Business Law

 

Our firm's business law practice assists with the legal needs of businesses in matters ranging from inception, to continuing operations, to litigation, and succession. We will prepare the necessary documents to form your LLC, Corporation, Partnership or other Georgia business entity, with the documents custom tailored to you and your business.

 

We emphasize a firm foundation in contract preparation, which provides greater protection of our client's contractural rights prior to litigation. By addressing matters in contractual form before entering a business arrangement, disputes can be avoided, while still protecting your company's rights. However, if litigation does arise we are prepared to assist you in protecting your company's rights and handling the matter expeditiously.

 

In addition, we assist and advise in the preparation and facilitation of buy-sell agreements, business succession plans, and other instruments to address the death or disability of one of the principals of your business.

Estates, Wills, and Trusts

 

To ensure your estate passes in accordance to your wishes upon your death, our estate practice focuses on preparing wills, trusts, and other ancillary documents. We will personally evaluate your assets and consider your individual circumstances in order to prepare a comprehensive will or trust that also covers contingencies; such as what you would wish to occur should your intended beneficiaries pass before you, or how your estate planning should be addressed in the event minor children are beneficiaries. Our practice can prepare the necessary documents to ensure your executors or trustees have the exact powers you wish in the managing of your estate. We also assist in the probate of estates and the administration thereof when our clients are appointed as Executors and Administrators.     

 

Government Practice

 

We serve as City Attorney for the City of Helen, Georgia, and as attorney for the White County Development Authority. An additional component of our practice includes facilitating applications in other municipal and county venues, including assistance in the application for zoning variances or changes, applications for licenses, approval of planned unit developments and subdivisions, and other matters requiring governmental approval.
